Neighbors helping neighbors.

Support today. Stability tomorrow. Opportunity always. A 501(c)(3) providing essentials and free financial, housing, and homeownership education to families across the North Shore.

Our Story

One unexpected moment
away.

At Sherwood & Company, our work puts us in living rooms and kitchens across our community — and we see firsthand the challenges many families face.

During the uncertainty surrounding the 2025 government shutdown and the potential loss or delay of SNAP benefits for many families, we saw something clearly — sometimes, even stable households can find themselves one unexpected moment away from not having what they need.

And when that happens, it shouldn't be met with shame, silence, or being left to figure it out alone. So we created the Sherwood & Company Charitable Foundation, Inc. as a way to step in, neighbor to neighbor, where support matters most.

What began as a plan to simply help families bridge the gap in access to food quickly revealed a deeper need: clear, accessible education around real-life finances, housing, credit, retirement planning, and homeownership.

We realized we didn't just want to help families get through the week. We wanted to help families build security for the years ahead.

How We Help

Two ways we
show up.

Immediate Support

Food, school supplies, and essential items for families experiencing financial strain — no questions, no shame, no waiting.

Long-Term Empowerment

Free workshops and one-on-one guidance on budgeting, credit, mortgages, retirement basics, and navigating homeownership — taught with patience and real-world clarity.

Reusable bags packed full of groceries and holiday essentials, ready for delivery to local families.
Immediate Support, In Practice
A bag of groceries. A helpful conversation. The right information at the right moment.

Mission

To strengthen families in our community by providing essential resources and accessible education — creating both relief today and opportunity for tomorrow.

Vision

A community where every family feels supported, informed, and empowered — where dignity is honored and long-term stability is a shared priority.

Core Values

What guides
every decision.

Dignity

Every person deserves respect, care, and the space to make choices for themselves and their families.

Community

We believe in neighbors helping neighbors — relationships and shared effort are how change happens.

Empowerment

Knowledge is long-term power. We teach real-world financial and housing skills that create independence.

Stability

Small, consistent support builds a lasting foundation. We work toward lasting impact, not quick fixes.

Transparency

We operate with honesty, clarity, and responsible stewardship of every resource entrusted to us.

Compassion

We listen first. We show up without judgment. We meet people where they are.

Why Give

Small acts.
Real change.

Financial confidence changes everything.

We teach real-world skills like budgeting, credit building, and navigating housing and homeownership.

Everyone deserves a fair shot.

Opportunity shouldn't depend on what's in your wallet. We're here to level the playing field.

Small acts create real change.

A bag of groceries. A helpful conversation. The right information at the right moment. It all matters.

We are neighbors helping neighbors.

Local families, local support, local impact. When our community rises, we all rise.

Strong communities are built on support.

Sometimes that means a warm meal, a backpack for school, or simply knowing someone cares.

The goal isn't just today.

It's building stability, confidence, and long-term independence — one family at a time.
