Brighton.

A Boston neighborhood · Massachusetts

Overview

Welcome to
Brighton.

Brighton is Allston's quieter sibling — same corner of Boston, very different pace. Oak Square, Brighton Center, and Cleveland Circle each anchor their own pocket of the neighborhood, and the streets between them climb real hills lined with two-families, brick apartment buildings, and a surprising number of single-family homes with yards. St. Elizabeth's Medical Center gives the neighborhood a major employer of its own, and Chandler Pond and the Chestnut Hill Reservoir add green edges that make Brighton feel more residential than almost anywhere else this close to the Green Line.

Transit runs on the B and C branches plus the 57 bus down Washington Street, and drivers slip onto the Mass Pike or Soldiers Field Road in minutes. Buyers land here for value relative to Brookline next door — condo conversions, well-kept two-families, and single-family streets in Oak Square that feel suburban without leaving the city. Brighton is one of Boston's most livable neighborhoods — for the full citywide context, see our Boston page.
