Overview

Welcome to
East Boston.

East Boston sits across the harbor from downtown, and its waterfront parks — Piers Park and LoPresti Park chief among them — frame the single best skyline view in the city. Long a gateway neighborhood for new immigrant communities, Eastie has one of Boston's great food scenes, especially its Latin American kitchens, and its housing runs from classic triple-deckers on the side streets to the new waterfront condo buildings that have transformed the Border Street shoreline.

The Blue Line ties it all together — Maverick and Airport stations put downtown minutes away — and Logan sits at the neighborhood's edge, which residents treat as a perk rather than a nuisance. Belle Isle Marsh, the city's last big salt marsh, adds an unexpected wild edge, and the former Suffolk Downs racetrack is being redeveloped into one of the region's largest new mixed-use districts. East Boston is one of the city's most accessible markets — for the citywide view, visit our Boston page.
